
Vegetable Dalia
Vegetable Dalia is a nutritious and hearty dish made with broken wheat, vegetables, and spices. It is a wholesome meal that provides a good balance of carbohydrates, protein, and fiber. This recipe is easy to make and is perfect for kids who need a healthy and filling meal.
Ingredients
- ½ cup Potato chopped
- 1 cup Dalia broken wheat
- ½ cup Green peas
- ¼ cup Moong dal
- 1 Onion medium sized
- 1 Tomato medium sized
- pinch Ginger grated
- ½ cup Carrot chopped
- 4 cup Water
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp Oil or ghee
Instructions
- Dry roast 1 cup Dalia and 1/4 cup Moong dal separately until aromatic and golden.
- Heat 1 tbsp Oil or ghee in a pressure cooker and add 1 tsp Mustard seeds and 1 tsp Cumin seeds.
- Saute 1 Onion until translucent, then add grated ginger and cook further.
- Add tomatoes and cook until mushy. Add chopped vegetables and cook briefly.
- Rinse dalia and moong dal, then add them to the pressure cooker with water.
- Cook for 4-5 whistles until dalia is fully cooked. Adjust consistency if needed.
- Vegetable Dalia is ready to be served.
