What is Yuktahaar?

Yuktahaar is a community of health, lifestyle, and food-conscious families who want to understand good health and purposeful living. It's also a facilitator that helps locate genuine sources of production and makes them conveniently available to conscious consumers. We aim to develop a seamless community of producers, facilitators, and consumers, ultimately trying to eliminate traditional profiteering-centric market forms.

How does Yuktahaar work?

It's a three-step process:

  1. We identify trusted local producers near Raipur (or as close to Raipur as possible)
  2. We list their products on our Website, on WhatsApp, and on our Catalogue.
  3. You place your order through the website or through WhatsApp and we deliver them to you.

For dry groceries, you can order anytime. For on-demand products like sweets, you register your demand, we get it made and then deliver it to you.

Is Yuktahaar a social work organization?

No, Yuktahaar is a commercial organization with service at its core. It employs salaried employees and aims to be a sustainable commercial organization generating reasonable income while upholding the values of trust and transparency.

Products

Are the products from Yuktahaar certified organic?

Yuktahaar doesn't feel the need for organic certification. We have direct or indirect relationships with all farmers and only incorporate producers into our family after meeting or talking to them and establishing trust. We believe that genuine relationships trump a piece of certification when it comes to getting genuine products.

But don't just take our word for it. We invite you to visit our producers and see their work for yourselves and determine whether our decision works.

Does Yuktahaar have any of their own products?

No, all of Yuktahaar's products are made by different farmers and producers. Yuktahaar mentions this in all its communications. The main objective is to connect consumers with producers transparently, while providing convenience and facilitation to both of them.

Pricing

Why are your products expensive?

That's a fair question!

When we started using natural/organic products ourselves - we asked the same question.

Then, we visited the producers ourselves and saw their work, while also understanding the processes in the market.

To take an example of oil, the oil in the market is extracted using high-temperature processes and then refined, bleached, deodorised, such that its natural properties are lost. This gives a higher yield (and hence lower prices) but is very problematic for your health. In contrast, the oils we deliver are extracted using cold-press, without raising the temperature too much so that its natural goodness is preserved. This leads to lower yield though and thus it feels expensive compared to the market.

The same thing happens with other products. Instead of optimising for the market by mixing stuff or increasing yield, we focus on getting products which are optimised for your health and well-being.

In fact, for the quality that you get, you'll have a tough time finding these products for less.

Why don't you run discount offers?

As a policy, we try to offer you a fair price for the product whenever you buy it. 

If you look closely into the reality of discounts, how is it possible to give something for less if it costs that much to produce it? It's not. It's a trick to make you think you got a deal.

If we have to run discounts and promotions, we'll have to artificially inflate the prices and then discount it to psychologically trick you into thinking that you've got a deal. But in reality, you would be paying more, not less.

So aligning with our principles of trust and transparency, we decided we won't play with such marketing tactics with you. What you see is what you get, now and forever. For the product that you are getting, we charge a fair price and tell you that directly. No tricks, no buy 1 get 1, no luring you into buying incessantly.

Is there a membership for Yuktahaar?

Currently, there is no membership, and we are doing this on an ad-hoc basis. However, in the future, we are planning to introduce a membership system so that consumer demand can be known with certainty, which we would then pass on to the producers to help them plan their work accordingly.

What is your Return/Refund policy?

We want to ensure that whatever you order from Yuktahaar, you receive the value you expect from it. If you find that the product is not up to the mark, we do a call with the producer to understand what went wrong. And if the product is not up to the mark, we replace it or refund it, on a case-to-case basis.
